Francisco Bethencourt López (? - 1890) was captain of the militias, town councillor, mayor and village judge, but he distinguished himself above all as a great merchant. He was one of the greatest promoters of trade in the second half of the 19th century, not only in Teror, but also abroad.
A white marble panel on the house wall in Calle Real de la Plaza 7 identifies it as the home of the personality.
