According to rumors, this lime grew at a farmhouse in which the Czech King George of Podebrady (visit link) and King Matyas Korvin of Hungary (visit link) signed the peace treaty on 27 February 1469 (old postcards on February 14, 1469). According to another legend, Jirí z Podebrad rested here at the beginning of the war as he headed for the enemy.

Plaque Inscription:
Památce vehlasného krále
Jirího Podebradského,
který pod touto lípou
dne 27. února 1469
uzavrel mír s Matyášem
králem uherským

The age of the tree was estimated at 500-600 years. On May 2, 2012 the life of the original lime ends. The dry body of the tree is highlighted and decays into several parts. In 2013, a new lime is planted in the original site.
