Psychedelic Sunset - Taupo, North Island, New Zealand - Artistically Decorated Utility Boxes on Waymarking.com

Psychedelic Sunset is situated on the corner of Lake Terrace and Matuku Street on Taupo's lakefront.

The view looks southwards across Lake Taupo to the volcanic mountains of Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu in the Tongariro National Park. Silhouetted on the shoreline is a native Flax bush or Herekeke, and the familiar spiky leaves of a Cabbage Tree or Ti Kouka.

The artist is Paul Walsh, often called New Zealand's Banksy....only ours is much better. He says “I’m working as a legal mural artist with my government name on it, I’m not doing it at night, illegally or in places I’m not meant to, it’s just mural art,”.
