The forest-green painted wooden bench is about 5 foot wide, and made up of multiple narrow slats of timber, with a pronounced curving shape at the top of the backrest, and front of the seat. The seat part of the bench has a few chips off the paint, showing the undercoat. The two outer supporting metal straps are welded to metal posts, that are set into the concrete footpath/promenade, while the central strap provides extra strength and support. The slat that the cast bronze plaque is inset into is about twice the width of the other slats. The plaque has a textured black background, and is held in place with four rusty, Philips-head, counter-sunk screws. It reads:

"ELDRIDGE, Simon John.
"Passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2012.
"Late of Mosman.
"Loved husband of Sheila, loving father of Fred and Henry. Beloved son of John and Maureen. Treasured brother of Melissa and Louise, brother-in-law to Tim and Matthew. Cherished uncle.
"Will be truly missed.
"Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate SIMONS life, to be held at Shore School Chapel, North Sydney, on Wednesday (April 4, 2012) at 4 p.m.
