Cloud Chief Cemetery has 292 burials at this time. It is located on County Road 1125, one mile south of the turnoff to the town. At the coordinates shown above, drive one-half mile west to the cemetery grounds. The cemetery is located at N35 14.435 W98 51.728.
According to the Find a Grave website, "The land was homesteaded by David Palmenter and in September 1902, he sold the land to Rua L. Good with the understanding that 5 acres would be used for a cemetery and he could have certain plots in the cemetery."
Most of the grave sites date from the late 1800's and early 1900's, with less than a dozen since 1996. We did note a Mabel Palmanteer who died in 1893, and a Palmanteer child who died in 1900. The cemetery is surrounded by farmland, is flat and well maintained. There is a chain link fence across the front of the cemetery facing the road. There are only about three trees planted here.
