Commissioned by Denali Outdoor outfitters in Providence, Rhode Island, aerial views of the rivers and glacier fields from Denali National Park inspire the images of this six-panel mural by Joanna Read.
Each abstract style portion of the piece is painted on a 4' x 12' component installed within black metal casements on the Meeting Street side of the building. Every one unique, a common technique of flowing contours and characteristic vertical visual movement tie the parts together.
The colors are mostly cool blues, greens, and turquoise, with some warmer orange, yellow, and earth tones.
