The round bronze plaque is about 35 cm in diameter, and set in a square concrete pad to the side of the Promenade walk beside Balmoral Beach and Balmoral Reserve. The plaque reads:
The Depression 1929 - 1934

The Promenade and Rotunda, Balmoral
During the Depression of 1929 - 1934 the NSW Government
funded local councils to provide relief work for the unemployed.
Projects undertaken by relief workers for Mosman Council included
new roads, road widening, Parks and work on the foreshores,
as well as building the Promenade and Rotunda in 1930.
This plaque recognises their enduring efforts
during those difficult economic times.
