Some years ago the school was closed as, we suppose, the town shrunk in population, eventually being unable to support a school. We assume the students are now bussed to the larger town of Omak, about 7 miles south.
Fortunately the school was not demolished and, instead, has been repurposed, now being used by at least one private business. Also we say
fortunately because there is a benchmark in the school. Actually a Vertical Control Mark, it is located in the east wall of the school, less than a foot from the northeast corner and about 3 feet above ground.
