Webster's Falls Conservation Area is one of the most popular conservation areas in the city of Hamilton. While the star attraction is the 22-meter-high ribbon waterfall, the park area above the falls is also a major draw for those looking to enjoy a leisurely day along the banks of Spencer Creek.
Situated in this park-like setting is a single stone fireplace, not far from a picnic pavilion. Although it is temping to believe the fireplace is all that remains from some long-since-demolished mansion, it is more likely that the fireplace was simply constructed for the use of park users. The date on the fireplace is 1946, and this is at least 12 years after the area became a public park.
Year built or dedicated as indicated on the structure or plaque: 1946
