The
Smokies
Shaping the Landscape
For thousands of years, people have come to the Smoky Mountains looking for something. Some came to farm, others to find fish and wildlife. Some came to cut down the trees, other to look for minerals. Some came for work and some for recreation. All these people came searching for different things found in this one place. The land and its resources have changed , and yet people still come to the Smokies to look and discover.
