This fountain is part of the gardens surrounding Charlottenhof Palace in the old Prussian capital Potsdam.

Charlottenhof Palace, built in 1829, was a summer residence of Prussian King Frederick William IV.

The gardens were designed by landscaper Hermann Sello under supervision of Peter Joseph Lenné, director general of the Royal Prussian palaces and parks.
