About the Pub
Found at the Manx Electric Railway station next to where the horse trams used to be housed, the Terminus has an extensive comfortable front bar with large bay windows. Excellent food is served and the pub is very locally popular. There is at the rear another bar for games and also outside at the front a large patio that has views over Douglas bay. The decoration in the front bar illustrates interesting architecture. Okells bitter is offered alongside guest beers.
Accessibility for wheelchair users is through a door on the East Side of the pub which coincidentally is near a public disabled toilet. A ramp needs to be installed by bar staff to allow wheelchair access. The pub's own accessible toilet is beyond the South of the bar at the side. The patio is a single step up from the ground another step from there to the porch at the front with another separate step into the pub.

"The Terminus Tavern is perfectly situated for those arriving on the tram from Ramsey and those using the horse trams along the prom. It has a well earned reputation for serving very good homemade and freshly prepared meals."

The official Isle of Man tourism website describes The Terminus Tavern as follows:
"The Terminus Tavern don’t serve fast food, they serve good food as fast as they can - that’s their motto at the Terminus Tavern. All their homemade food is freshly prepared to order and locally sourced wherever possible. They also have a children’s menu and vegetarian options.
The Terminus Tavern is located on Douglas Promenade at the terminus of the horse drawn trams and the commencement of the Manx Electric Railway which travels to Laxey and Ramsey, so it’s a great place to start your journey to the north of the Island." (

"Terminus Tavern
(Strathallan)
Built by Major Pollock circa 1836 as a private residence, the Strathallan probably became licensed in connection with the building of the electric railway and this is whence it takes its current name, Terminus Tavern.
