Outside the station we found a couple of pieces of the department's apparatus, a Kenworth tanker and this Darley/Mack pumper conversion. Standing at the back of the station, the pumper wears a fashionable green and white coat. A
Darley pumper conversion of a Mack cabover chassis, this is somewhat rare in this part of the world, the only Darley conversion we've found to date.
It was 110 years after Darley began making firefighting apparatus that we encountered this one. With a centre control panel, a configuration generally favoured by firefighters, we can't say with any degree of certainty what the vintage of this unit may be. A guess would be that it was manufactured in the 1980s or 1990s.
