City Bites® was cooked up in an 800 sq. ft. store in Bethany, Oklahoma by three Blevins brothers, Brady, Gary, and Eric in 1986. With entrepreneurial skills in their pot from experience with a landscaping company, the brothers realized that they had a taste for operating a restaurant & bakery and decided to mix in a small amount of borrowed capital along with a large serving of sweat equity. Later, the brothers decided to mix in a special ingredient and stirred a fourth Blevins brother in, Mark.
This delicious recipe went on to win the 1991 Oklahoma Small Business of the Year Award and many more awards including the Oklahoman's Readers' Choice for Best Deli as well as the Oklahoma Gazette's award for Best Deli.
