Le Musée de Cucuron est installé dans un hôtel du XVIIème siècle, l'Hôtel des BOULIERS. Il fut créé en 1970 sur une initiative associative et communale.
On y trouve des collections d'objets préhistoriques et gallo-romains ethnographiques provenant de la commune ou des environs immédiats, dont la pièce principale est le Mausolée.
La fouille d'une villa gallo-romaine traditionnelle a livré les restes d'enduits muraux datant de la fin du Ier siècle, qui portent des graffiti de bateaux romains, réalisés avec une grande précision et une grande fidélité.
Les héritiers de Marc DEYDIER, notaire, autodidacte, féru d'histoire, d'archéologie, d'entomologie, de photographie et félibre à ses heures, ont déposé au musée plus de 2800 plaques photographiques prises entre 1890 et 1920. Ces documents, dont certains sont d’une qualité exceptionnelle, retracent la vie au quotidien de Cucuron et de ses environs. Travaux des champs, scène de la vie privée, scène de la vie publique, mariages, décès, fêtes, banquets... défilent au gré des curiosités de Marc DEYDIER.

The Cucuron Museum is housed in a 17th century hotel, Hôtel des BOULIERS. It was created in 1970 on an associative and communal initiative.
There are collections of prehistoric and Gallo-Roman ethnographic objects from the municipality or the immediate surroundings, the main part of which is the Mausoleum.
The excavation of a traditional Gallo-Roman villa revealed the remains of wall plasters dating from the end of the 1st century, which carry graffiti from Roman ships, made with great precision and fidelity.
Marc DEYDIER's heirs, notary, self-taught, fond of history, archaeology, entomology, photography and feverish at his time, have deposited in the museum more than 2800 photographic plates taken between 1890 and 1920. These documents, some of which are of exceptional quality, trace the daily life of Cucuron and its surroundings. Field work, private life scene, public life scene, weddings, deaths, celebrations, banquets... are all part of Marc DEYDIER's curiosities.

Tuesday - Wednesday: 10am-12.30am and 3.30pm - 7pm
Thursday to Sunday: 3:30 pm - 7 pm
Closed on Mondays.
