Bullaburra is a small community, crowded onto the Great Western Highway by the narrowness of the ridges. It is about 90 km from Sydney CBD, being maybe 84 minutes by car, or 105 minutes by train. The Koori word of 'Bullaburra' means 'Blue Sky'. There are pleasant bushwalks into the gullies on eith the north or southern side of the railway line. [Some info from: (

There is sufficient room to pull over safely, but getting back into the flow may be difficult in peak hour. You will be heading east, towards Sydney. And yes, as my measurements indicate, there is still some descent to the village of Bullaburra.
