description/mission statement:
This group aims to waymark places that are best seen when it is dark outside.
This category is for waymarking those places you like to visit at night, because of the view. There are places around the world that really come alive in the night time.
Some examples include lit waterfall displays, city overlooks, active volcanoes or any other areas whose beauty comes best after the sun has gone down. You may find a unique local feature, like a mine that pours out glowing tailings on a slope (Sudbury).
# The location must be scenic! It should be a place that will look best when it is dark outside.
# YOU must not be providing the light!
# The location must be permanent, whether it is human created or natural.
# The location must be a place that a waymarker is allowed to visit at night. Please do not list areas that close after dark.
We understand that 'scenic' is a relative term, and we're looking forward to the variety this could entail. We would prefer to keep the waymarks "unique", and ask that the overly common scenese are excluded.
Things we do not want to see:
# Typical urban/suburban streets or highways.
# Store fronts
# Neon Signs
# Temporary displays (example, Christmas Lights)
# Light provided by you
Examples of things we DO want to see:
# A Lit Waterfall (ie: Niagara Falls)
# The glowing tailings at the INCO Mine in Sudbury, ON
# An active volcano that glows at night
# A lit city skyline from a distance
