I love the idea, but would prefer to see more information required of the waymark submissions, including if permits or reservations are needed, at least 2 photos of the grill and surroundings, etc. I see this as giving people an opportunity for sloppy submissions.
I think you need more information on the detailed description instead of just a repeat of the quick description.
Description needs more information.
How about calling these "grills" or "BBQ Grills"? This name is confusing with restaurants that serve "barbecue". The detailed description needs more detail. It's not supposed to match the quick description.
This is not interesting or informative, some parks could have 50 of these in about 528 feet.
Beyond failing to meet the "interesting and informative" criteria, why? Almost every park has bbq grills - some have 30-40. What about campgrounds. I know of one with 264 sites, all of which have bbq grills.
Do you want every BBQ waymarked or every place that has BBQs? For example, a park that had many available should only be waymarked once.
restate that groupings of bbq's should be logged together as there are tons at many parks that are within a few feet of each other.
I think there's needs to be some min distance between two BBQ waymarks. Many parks have many of the same BBQs.
This fails ALL of the criteria: Global - maybe, but I think this is pretty much a North American phenomenon. Prevalance - Horrors! A single park could have dozens, and all of them pretty much the same. Standout - This is the worst of them all - absolutely mundane, boring, and unworthy of waymarking. Redundant - The many park categories offer ample opportunity for including these as part of the waymark or description if one is really hot to see them! This would really hurt the credibility of waymarking in general. Let's do park benches next . . . .
