We want to waymark all the Penny market stores in the world...Penny is a supermarket chain specializing in private label and discount products.
Abroad, the innovative discounter PENNY is very successful as well and has made a name for oneself with the international expansion of REWE Group. There are 274 PENNY stores in Austria alone, which book turnover figures that are on a constant rise year by year. In the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, PENNY is the market leader. In Romania, REWE Group is present with the PENNY Market sales line which implements the discount concept on larger sales floor areas (up to 2,400 square metres).
The focus of the discount business in Western Europe is on Italy. There, the 268 PENNY stores have adapted to the needs of the customers by offering regional product ranges. All in all, the 1092 PENNY stores operated abroad achieve a turnover of around 3.2 billion euros.
