Knights of Columbus Councils
Managed By: Icon Here Knights of Columbus
Description:
We would like to locate the 14,000+ Knights of Columbus meeting halls, and note any interesting historical and architectural significance.
Expanded Description:
The Knights of Columbus (from here on will be referred to as the KC's) is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Official website is here
Founded in 1882 and named for Christopher Columbus, the KC's have an approximate membership of 1.7 million in 14,000+ councils.
Councils have been chartered worldwide. For more information on the KC's, good info found on Wikipedia, located here.
Many famous people have been Knights, from politicians to sports legends to military heroes.
Our group will be intrested in locating and photographing any KC meeting hall. Most are located close to, or at a Catholic church. In the case of a council meeting at a church or in a church parish building, we will accept only a sign for the council as long as it is in plain view and accessible by the public.

What we want is the KC Meeting halls ONLY. No KC SPONSERED SIGNS (Signs for Life, etc..). Just because it has a KC logo on it, does not mean it is a KC hall. The only signage allowed will be sign designating the KC Hall with council number on it. We prefer a building with a sign, but as stated, in rare cases this is not possible. We will judge these waymarks on a case by case basis. We will also expect alittle effort in finding out any information on building, or if council has a website, etc.
