Description:
In our daily travels we often see exact replicas of known art, buildings and other structures, sometimes in full size, sometimes in miniature. The replica may be thousands of miles away from the original but sometimes, seeing an exact copy can be almost as good as the real thing.
Expanded Description:
(Requirements updated 1-January-2013 to establish a policy on archeological reconstructions and artistic renderings. Existing waymarks are grandfathered.)

Exact replicas of known or famous statues, sculptures, paintings, landmarks, buildings and other structures. If the item in question is not widely known, please supply detailed history of the original, either from an internet link or supplied from a factual book.

The replica should be permanent to its location or part of a permanent installation. The replica can be full size or a miniature version of the original. This category can include replicas of items that are located in, or are part of, a museum collection. It will not include any object that can be purchased in a store. The proper definition of replica is a copy made by the person who made the original although it is now commonly used to refer to any copy. In this case any "copy" will suffice as long as it is an exact copy of the original.

Submissions of archeological reconstructions and artistic renderings not based either on specific detailed plans of a particular object, or existing structures (partial or whole), are disallowed.
Instructions for Posting a Exact Replicas Waymark:
1. Only exact replicas of "known" or "famous" items will be accepted. The originals must be man-made and need to have some kind of history behind them.

2. The title of the waymark must list the name of the item first, followed by the location (city/state/country) as there may be several of the same replica located throughout the world.

3. Please provide accurate coordinates.

4. Please include at least one picture. If you opt to put GPS in shot please take one without also.

5. If the replica has a plaque describing it please include a picture of that also.

6. Please provide information as to where the replica is located and what its purpose is (for example, a gift to a person or community, decoration, etc.)

7. Please include information regarding the original such as where it is located, the materials it was constructed of, or when it was created and by whom. Alternatively, include an internet link (if available) about the original, or a picture if you have one.

Note: As to the definition of exact, we will leave it up to your judgment to submit something that looks like the original. If you look at the item and you know what it is without thinking twice, then that should help qualify it as an “exact” replica. Replicas should be of a high quality since we are looking at permanent locations.

Submissions of archeological reconstructions and artistic renderings not based either on specific detailed plans of a particular object, or existing structures (partial or whole), are disallowed.
