Expanded Description:

Any bridge constructed on a path or trail intended primarily for hiking trough a wilderness or naturual (unimproved) area.

Instructions for Posting a Hiking Path Footbridges Waymark:

Bridges should be construced for the intent of crossing an obstacle along a trail, used primarily for hiking, through an un-maintained wilderness area. A good rule-of-thumb to follow is that if you can see a lot of concrete (buildings, roads, parking lots. etc...), the waymark will probably not be approved. This category is not accepting boardwalks or elevated walkways through marshy areas. Bridges on PAVED trails will not be accepted. Please include an original photo or combination of photos that show both the bridge and the trail that is connected to the bridge. Please do not include additional logging requirements for visits.
