Bells
Managed By: Icon Here Bell Ringers
Description:
Bells that are on public display. Static locations only that can be viewed by the public. The option for a person to be photographed with the Bell must exist to list it here successfully. Normally these would be 'ground-based' by nature but exceptions may exist. See previously accepted listings for examples.
Expanded Description:

To gather a list of locations where people can visit a Bell which was placed for public display. These can be ceremonial in nature and used for tourism, or just free-standing examples. Any Bells that move around are not eligible for inclusion. Please list Bells that you would want to visit, not mundane versions.

This Category is in direct competition with ANCHORS. Let's see who wins by reaching 100 listings first!

Instructions for Posting a Bells Waymark:
Collect coordinates using your GPS for the listing. Provide an image of the Bell to be visited as the default image. If there is a dedication plaque at the site, you should include that image in the gallery also. Any related history to the Bell should be included in the listing as well.

Remember: You must be able to be photographed with the Bell to list it successfully. Normally these would be 'ground-based' by nature but exceptions may exist. You do not need to be in the photograph but the option must be possible. As a guideline, if you cannot touch the bell then it is outside of the height range we are looking for. If the bell is encased or fenced off to prevent touching then please include a photo that demonstrates this form of barrier.

Naming your Waymark Listing: You may name your Waymark Listing anything you like within reason but it should provide some indication of the nature of the site. Consider adding a descriptive tag at the beginning of the name to further assist Waymarking participants to locate the Waymark.

As a guideline, the following is a suggested naming scheme for listings in this category: Bell - Come and Get It! Dinner Bell

While you are free to create your own Waymark Listing name, using the suggested style may help people when they visit multiple Waymark locations.

Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:

As a suggestion for your visit log, please make every effort to supply a brief-to-detailed note about your experience at the Waymark. If possible also include an image that was taken when you visited the Waymark. Images can be of yourself, a personal Waymarking signature item or just one of general interest that would be of value to others. Sharing your experience helps promote Waymarking and provides a dynamic history of your adventures.
