High Level Marks

Managed By: Icon Here High Water Markers
Description:
A category to waymark high level marks. These can be any mark or marker that depicts historic levels reached when water, snow, mud, ash, etc. attained certain levels in depth or height.
Expanded Description:
Nature impacts our everyday lives all the time, a river overflows its banks and we pay little attention, till that same river floods a town so much that homes and businesses are under water. A blizzard of snow falls and buries a village or mud cuts loose from a hillside and envelops a community. Sometimes it's so significant and impacts us so much we need to not only tell about it, but to actually mark how high or deep the occurrence was for people to fully visualize the importance of the event.

Some events might have been man made or at least a contributing factor. A levee or dam break, a hillside cleared of trees, poor mining practices. What ever the cause, we want to see the level of impact.
Instructions for Posting a High Level Marks Waymark:
No matter what type of marker is used, a sign, plaque monument or just painted on the side of a wall, there must be an actual line or arrow, something pointing to or depicting the actual level. No marker will be accepted that only tells of a flood or other natural occurrence. Also, be sure to include the names of any rivers, lakes etc. that contributed to the occurrence, in your description.

Any images that show offensive or gang related markings should be edited before being submitted. Copy and paste over the offense if possible. If this can't be done, submit what images you can to show the mark and make a note explaining the reason for not being able to show a particular shot of the subject.
Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
A picture showing the level along with any markers telling of what had occurred can be used. Better yet would be a picture of you or someone standing next to the high level mark, that would show if you would have been just wading or completely submersed.
