Managed By: Icon Here Blues Brothers
A collection waymarks that document the life and music of the artists that shaped the Blues.
Expanded Description:

In this category, we are looking for locations that have a historical context with respect to Blues Legends. For the purposes of this category, a Blues Legend is an artist that has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame by the Blues Foundation.

A waymark submitted to this category should be an example of one of the following types for acceptance:

(1) Blues Legend Birthplace
Waymark is the specific site (not just the town) of the place of birth or childhood home of a Blues Legend. If the building no longer exists, a marker must be present at the site in order to post.

(2) Blues Legend Gravesite
Waymark is the final resting place for a Blues Legend.

(3) Historical "Juke Joint"
Waymark is the site of an establishment where people came to party and listen to early blues music, often in secret. If the building no longer exists, a marker must be present at the site in order to post. Submissions must have a historical context for acceptance

(4) Blues Recording/Transmitting
Waymark is the location of a historical recording studio, radio station, or record label that was dedicated to blues music.

(5) Blues Museum/Dedication
Waymark is a site dedicated to Blues memorabilia or honors Blues Legend(s), such as a hall of fame, or statue of a Blues Legend.

(6) Annual Blues Festival
While this category is focused on the history of the Blues, the only way to experience the history it is to hear it in the music. Waymarks listed must be at the same venue each year. Please post a link to the event website.

(7) House of Blues
They pay homage to the Blues Legends almost every night, how could we not include them? UPDATE 2/10/10: We will accept other Blues Clubs if a website is provided that clearly shows the venue is primarily dedicated to performing/promoting blues music.

Instructions for Posting a Blues Legends Waymark:
(1) Accurate GPS Coordinates.
(2) Photo of the general area around the waymark.
(3) Closeup photo of any markers or signs related to the waymark.
(4) A paragraph that demonstrates why this waymark is historically significant to the Blues.
(5) If there is a website associated with this waymark, please list it in the Website variable.
