Whether you're stopping for a quick coffee to kick-off your day on the slopes, grabbing a sandwich for lunch, warming-up with a hot chocolate on a powder day, or ending the day with a glass of schnapps, the world's ski lodges are our refuge from the best and the worst of the skiing or snowboarding experience.
Expanded Description:
A ski lodge is any building at a recognized ski resort that serves food or drink. This includes on-mountain and base/facilities, but not hotels, and it includes huts and kiosks that serve food or drink but do not have any indoor seating. This category also includes "backcountry" ski lodges and yurts, so long as they are permanent sites that include restaurant or cooking facilities.
Instructions for Posting a Ski Lodges Waymark:
- Ideally the coordinates should be taken at the approximate center of the lodge. However since GPS signal reception may be poor there, the coordinates may be taken at a major entrance.
- Please state the official name of the lodge and of the resort that it is situated in.
- Please list the types of food and/or drink that are available, and what type of service it is (eg coffee bar, cafeteria, casual table service, fine dining). If the lodge contains several different cafes or restaurants within the same facility, list each one.
- Include any other points of interest such as webcams, historic notes, and recent changes.
- Upload a picture of the lodge (preferred but optional)
- List the hours of operation (optional)
