Description:
Catalog, waypoint and photograph Monuments dedicated to those who served in, or died during, WWII (World War Two).
Expanded Description:
We're looking for Monuments and memorials specifically commemmorating those who served in World War Two. It can be anything from a generic plaque / memorial honoring "those who served in World War Two" with no names or specifics listed, to listing a specific name or names.
Cenotaphs are also included, provided they specifically list people who served / died in World War Two.
Memorials honoring more than one war, even if it includes World War Two, should be listed in the Non-Specific Veterans Memorials "Multi-War Monument" category.

**UPDATE**
We are now also accepting submissions of memorials for non-military people who died as a direct result of World War 2, such as those who died during the Blitz.
Instructions for Posting a World War II Memorials / Monuments Waymark:

Overview:
A description of the area, and a photo of the monument must be included. The default photo will be an "art shot" of the monument - well-framed, and with NO GPS in the photo. (Save that for the "Attended" log). If there are names listed, include an additional photo(s) with closeups of the names.

If this monument is on private property, please indicate you have received permission not only to list it, but for others to go onto this property to SEEK it! If it is in a restricted-access area, such as in a dawn-to-dusk park, please indicate the times and days people can seek the memorial. Also indicate in your text will be information explaining the commemorating of a specific WW II event, place, ship, etc., if such condition exists.

UPDATE:
The following items must be entered into the "Long Description":

- A physical description of the monument
- A physical description of the area (i.e.: just "in a park" is not acceptable)
- Pertinent text on the marker or monument to be included or a screen shot inserted using HTML. If the original text is in a language other than English, an English translation might be provided.
- Close-up photos of any special medallions, pictures, carvings, etc. on the monument itself.

The Long Description be filled in. This should include some UNIQUE text. Use the above requirements as your guide for what to include in your waymark.

Naming Convention:
In an effort to bring some uniformity to the category, the title of each waymark shall look like this example highlighted in red: Liberty Ship Memorial - South Portland, ME

Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
Include a photo containing, at minimum, the monument and your GPSr. We'd prefer a photo containing YOU at the monument, but we understand that some people are camera-shy.
