Expanded Description:

A municipal heritage site or monument in The Netherlands a building, archaeological or landscape structure on the basis of a municipal heritage sites or monuments. Regulation is protected for special cultural historical or architectural value.
It is up to the municipality to appoint a municipal heritage site or monument. This may also happen that a municipality has no municipal heritage sites or monuments.

Objects with a municipal heritage site or monument status are often local or regional importance, while objects that are designated as national monument often have a national or international importance.
The Netherlands employs around 41,000 addresses that are designated as a municipal heritage site or monument.

The provinces of Drenthe and Noord-Holland are the only provinces that have also appointed provincial next to municipal heritage sites or monuments.
Not only houses, but also dikes, border posts and cross-town objects can be part of a provincial monument. The list is compiled by the Provincial Council of the province. If a building is on the list, it means that the property is protected from the province.

You can Waymark both, municipal heritage sites or munuments and provincial monuments.
But no National Monuments named Rijksmonumenten, which is a separate category on Waymarking.

There is no separate register of municipal heritage sites or monuments.
But they are well stated on wikipedia, including address and monument number. Search for the City on Wikipedia and look for the link "Lijst van gemeentelijke monumenten in .... (City name)" or "Lijst van provinciale monumenten in ..... (City name)"

NAMING CONVENTION: Name Local Heritage Site or Monument - Name City/Village. For Example: Boerderij 't Hulsding - Dwingeloo. NO address, state/province or Country in the name.

PICTURES: Upload a selfmade picture of the Waymarking point. NO drive-by pics. We prefer two pictures, one of the Local Heratige Site or Monument and one of the surroundings. More pictures are always welcome!
