Camping as a recreational activity that did not become popular until the early 20th century. Find a campground, mark its location, and describe the area.
Expanded Description:
"Camping is an outdoor activity involving overnight stays away from home in a shelter, such as a tent. Typically participants leave developed areas to spend time outdoors in more natural ones in pursuit of activities providing them enjoyment. To be regarded as "camping" a minimum of one night is spent outdoors, distinguishing it from day-tripping, picnicking, and other similarly short-term recreational activities. Camping can be enjoyed through all four seasons."

Any campground submitted to this category must be open to the public and accessible by road and provide campsites: which could include sites for tents, Popups and RVs, motor homes, campers, etc. Some campgrounds offer cabins and large campsite areas for groups. The campground category is for locations that provide at least a minimum of a one overnight stay. We WILL NOT accept day use only locations.
  2. Visit a campground anywhere in the world and provide a minimum of three photographs. Include the sign (if available), campsites and an overview. Some photograph options: pavilion, boat ramp/s, lakes and streams, hiking trails, etc.
  3. In the long description include a minimum of three (3) sentences. Required is the name of the campground, approximate number of campsites, cost per night, amenities offered, and physical description of the area: dessert, forest, beach, lakeside, etc. Other options: Unique features of the campground, such as: if they allow dogs and/or horses, provide a general store, boat ramps, playground, utility hookups, group night bonfires and community gatherings or events, etc. The 3 sentence requirement is a personal narrative and is in addition to any copied text.
  4. If you are using text from any source, you are required to use "quotation marks" and provide a source link below the quoted text. This will distinguish it from the personal narrative. You have the option to use a “blockquote", provide the source link.
  5. The waymarker must personally obtain GPS coordinates.
  6. An English translation is required, however multi-lingual submissions are encouraged.
  7. Naming requirement: NO tilde (~) or double hyphens (--) are allowed in the title.

Include in the title the name of the campground and the park, if applicable, city and state/province. Please omit from the title any physical address, and other descriptors, such as: rustic, beach front, lakeside, etc.

Abbreviations are acceptable for state or province.
    Country is optional.
