Occupational Monuments
Managed By: Icon Here The Working Class
Monuments placed to honour specific occupations from day to day life. These may be dedicated to any occupation except those focusing on military or emergency services (fire, police, etc) but they do not have to be memorial. All entries must feature the human form either as a statue or part of the display piece.
Expanded Description:

Any statue or three-dimentional artwork that was created and placed to pay tribute to any general group of people in an occupation.

This would be defined as jobs where being placed into danger is not associated with a typical day on the job. There are already existing categories for various military, police, fire and related services so please do not cross list those here.

We are looking for 'group' representation, not statues dedicated for specific people. Fishermen, Steelworkers, Librarians, Teachers, would all make good examples.

At each location there must be a static human form to be seen, as opposed to just a plaque about the group.

Instructions for Posting a Occupational Monuments Waymark:

Naming your Waymark Listing: You may name your Waymark Listing anything you like within reason but it should provide some indication of the nature of the site. Consider adding a descriptive tag at the beginning of the name to further assist Waymarking participants to locate the Waymark.

As a guideline, the following is a suggested naming scheme for listings in this category: Occupational Monuments - Skiers of the Sahara.

While you are free to create your own Waymark Listing name, using the suggested style may help people when they visit multiple Waymark locations.
