Expanded Description:

Church of Christ Scientists are followers of Mary Baker Eddy, who founded this new sect of Christianity in 1866, after writing her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The are now famous for their publication of the daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor. This category is to waymark locations of current and former Church of Christ Scientist buildings.

This sect is sometimes confused with a sect calling themselves Scientologists or Scientology. This emerged from the Science Fiction writings of L Ron Hubbard, and is in no way connected to the Church of Christ Scientist.
