This category wants to waymark Antique Hotels all around the world.
Because an Antique Hotel can be something dificult to define
we will consider as
an Old/Antique Hotel every hotel where the main building has at least 80 years old.
(Why? No special meaning. We had to draw the line somewhere and this date seemed like a good one. For some Hotels in Europe isn´t exactly old, but,
it allows some hotels in other parts of the world to qualify).
It doesn´t matter when the hotel started his operation as long as the main
building has at least 80 years. Most of them were former Family homes, some are
located in old Castles, old Factories and some were allways an hotel. Your job
is to find them.
Please include all information you can gather about the Hotel, and, if possible,
a brief history of the building, it´s characteristics, any funny or strange
story that happened there, and, of course, some pictures.
To qualify the hotel should be operating as an hotel by the date the waymark is
being created. Former (closed) Hotels do not qualify for this category.
Because this is an international web site and game with visitors from all around the world it´s important that everyone can understand what´s written. That´s why we ask you that all texts be in English or have English translation of the original text. Please understand why.
Changes after 27th September 2011 (all aproved waymarks
are considered Grandfathered)
- Date of the building changed from buildings built before 1931 to buildings
with at least 80 years old
- Description requirements (see bellow)
In normal circumstances your Waymark will be reviewed within 3 day´s.
Please check the officers messages to see if anyone is away.
