Algoma's ships are a common site in the Welland Canal so they have a repair depot. I guess this screw was beyond its useful lifespan so it's now a decoration.

On display at a public park is this large ship propeller/screw from the S.S. Canadiana. The ship operated for 46 years starting in 1910 and carried an estimated 15 million passengers in that period. Its death was 2004 when it was cut up for scrap.
