Unintentionally Funny Signs
This category is to waymark permanent signs or markers that didn't intend to be funny, but because of their context (a word combination, or the specific location where the sign is placed) the sign takes on a second, humorous meaning.

Expanded Description:
This category is to waymark permanent signs or markers that didn't intend to be funny, but because of a word combination, or the specific location where the sign is placed the sign takes on a second, humorous meaning. An example of a funny word combination would be "Stoner's Drugstore" and an example of a funny word/location combo would be a "No Dumping" (trash) sign posted on a restroom structure. If the sign is funny because of a grammatical error or spelling error then you should waymark it in the Unusual Signs category which looks for signs with these types of errors. We realize that different parts of the world are going to have different figures of speech. Try to remember this while writing your waymark and explain the double meanings of the words so everyone can be in on the joke. We also realize that what is funny to one person is not funny to all. Officers will be reviewing the signs based on whether the double meaning requirements have been addressed in the description, not on the sign's level of humour. The double meaning may be hilarious to some and stupid to others, but it is the unintentional nature of the double meaning that we are looking for.

Below are some photo's that are examples of what will be accepted. (Thanks to V70PDB, and S5280ft for use of their photos.)

The sign below wouldn't be accepted. Although the town's name "Climax" has multiple meanings, the location or an additional word doesn't cause the double meaning to be brought to mind. If the word on the sign that has a double meaning isn't paired with either a location or another word that brings the second meaning to mind, then it doesn't fit in the category. If you aren't sure whether a sign fits the requirements feel free to contact an officer with any questions you might have.

WARNING: This category contains bathroom humor and double entendres. Not suitable for small children or big babies.

Instructions for Posting a Unintentionally Funny Signs Waymark:
To post a waymark in this category please upload a photo of the funny signage. If the sign depends on it's location to understand the double meaning be sure your photo includes some of the surrounding area. In the waymark's description explain the sign's double meaning and how the wording or location brings the double meaning to mind.

Fitting monuments, markers, plaques and of course signs, will all be accepted.
