Expanded Description:
The waymarks of this category are Political Revolution Memorials, Locations or Historical Places all over the world

A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turn around") is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time. So a Political Revolution can be described as “An attempted, or successful, overthrow and subsequent repudiation of a political system."
Aristotle described two types of political revolution:
1. Complete change from one constitution to another
2. Modification of an existing constitution.

Revolutions have occurred through human history and vary widely in terms of methods, duration, and motivating ideology. Their results include major changes in culture, economy, and socio-political institutions.

While revolutions encompass events ranging from the relatively peaceful revolutions that overthrew communist regimes to the violent Islamic revolution in Afghanistan, they exclude coups d'états, civil wars, revolts and rebellions that make no effort to transform institutions or the justification for authority (such as Józef Pilsudski's May Coup of 1926 or the American Civil War), as well as peaceful transitions to democracy through institutional arrangements such as plebiscites and free elections, as in Spain after the death of Francisco Franco.

Instructions for Posting a Political Revolutions Waymark:
The waymark must refer the political revolution that is linked to it, such as the date and the country. An example could be "Quartel do Carmo, Lisboa - Revolução dos Cravos, April 25th 1974, Portugal"

Please send us the coordinates of the site/monument. The site must have some specific identification with them about the event. This would usually mean a memorial erected specifically for the revolution, a statue of a leader. If it is a building or other geographical location, then there must be some plaque or sign that identifies it and its role in the event. If not, any waymark posted without this requisite will be carefully and individualy analised, needing a link that comproves its connection to the event.

Post at least two clear photo from the monument. One of them must be of a plaque or some kind of identification that comproves the role of the site in the revolution, or that the memorial has erected specifically because of the revolution.
Please write some words about why is there the monument and also a few words about the surroundings.

We wil only accept Political Revolution Memorials, Locations or Historical Places. So the memorials must have been erected to honor the revolution. Site namings will not be aproved.

For example:
A submission of 25 de Abril Bridge regarding the Carnation Revolution, in Portugal, would NOT be accepted since it's only an afterwards naming to an already existing structure by the time of the revolution.

A submission of this marker regarding the Battle of Athens, TN, a rebellion led by citizens would be accepted even if it didn't provoke a fundamental change of power.
Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
