All entries must give a detailed description of the attraction. Focus on the creative side, as if you actually owned the location. The idea is to make visitors to the area interested in coming to the sited. Use of many images is highly recommended, but a minimum of one of the entrance (or main feature of the attraction) is required on the Waymark page and must be the default image.
The official City/Town/Municipal/Regional Tourism URL link to the attraction must be provided. If available, the attraction’s URL should also be included. Other items like hours of operation, admission prices if any, and the approximate amount of time needed to fully experience the attraction, transportation options (car only, subway, bus, etc.) are to be provided. The more detail you can give to help the visitor find and be prepared for your Waymark location, the better.
The listed coordinates must be either the entrance to the location or the closest point that is publicly accessible if there is no entrance.
Exclusions: any attraction not listed on the local city/town/municipal/regional listings. Items on links page are not acceptable. The city/town/municipal/regional URL must contain a description of the attraction on its tourism page.
Cross-listing from other categories is allowed, and encouraged. The idea of this category is to combine the various items that people would visit while on a trip and many already apply to other categories. It is recommended that if you wish to place a Waymark into this category that already exists in another category that you would ask the person that created the original listing to list it here as well. This will allow you to visit it and allow them to retain their ‘intellectual property’.
Naming your Waymark Listing: You may name your Waymark Listing anything you like within reason but it should provide some indication of the nature of the site. Consider adding a descriptive tag at the beginning of the name to further assist Waymarking participants to locate the Waymark.
As a guideline, the following is a suggested naming scheme for listings in this category: Tourism - Nude Beach of Atlantis!
While you are free to create your own Waymark Listing name, using the suggested style may help people when they visit multiple Waymark locations.
