The 1990's have been a time of change for the church. Several events occurred that are worth noting.
Due to the historic nature of the church and its cruciform sanctuary layout, the church was added to the Virginia Registry of Historical Places on April 16, 1991 and subsequently on the National Register of Historical Places on July 9, 1991.
