The westbound span of this new bridge opened to traffic on May 17, 2007, with the eastbound span to open in a few weeks. These bridges are the first major segmented bridges to be built in Pennsylvania. The roadbed 'segments' were prefabricated & brought on-site to be attached in place. The 2 3-lane bridges replace the original single 4-lane bridge dating back to the 1950s.

The disk is loacted about 2 feet east of the expansion joint on the east end of the north (westbound) bridge, on the bridgewall about 3 feet above the road bed and about 15 feet west of the east end of the railing.
