Not sure what's up with the establishment this is hanging in front of. Not sure if the sign works. It looks like it could. Found no information anywhere. Waiting to hear back from someone in Flint.
Update: Well, didn't hear back from the person I emailed about this sign. What I found out though is really cool. I did a search for "Night Hawks" & Flint. All I could find was an image of this sign lit up on Flickr. The person who posted the picture gave it's location, and it wasn't N 43° 00.993 W 083° 41.483, the location we found it at. I thought maybe there are two of them. Nope, there's only the one. So what's up with that, you ask? Well here's the deal.
Bob Perani, former goalie for the Flint Generals and owner of the Dort Mall and collector of many pieces of Americana rented the sign and many others for the production of a movie called "Semi-Pro" due out next year. It's stars Will Ferrel and Woody Harrelson and takes place in Flint.
We just happened upon it 2 days after they were finished with shooting in the downtown Flint area. It hadn't been removed yet. We found it back where it belongs at the Dort Mall. The new coordinates posted reflect this.
