Both the sign directly above the awning, which simply says "Nectar" and the sign higher up proclaiming "The Nectar Candyland" are neons. Unfortunately these signs are no longer working. I don't think that I've ever seen them in working condition. I imagine that it would be quite a sight to see if they did work. Some of the tubes appear to still be there, but it looks like some of them are missing or broken.
This candy store has been located in the same spot, and in operation since 1946. The owner of said shop has kept it almost exactly the same since the 1960's. He has added a few confections to the mix, but he never replaces any of the old candies when he does.
The Nectar Candyland features many different types of candy, and one of its best sellers is its fresh peanut brittle. This shop was featured in a "Zippy" cartoon in 2005.
