Located just outside the exterior walls of the Akershus Fortress, this sculpture takes the shape of an arch attached (or married?) to a wall. The arch is about 12 feet tall...and the wall half as much. The wall is attached at a right angle to one of the arch's sides.
A small plaque at the site indicates that the steel work is dated 1961 and is by Tony Smith. It is a gift to the people of Norway "for their contribution to peace" from the Carter Menil Human Rights Foundation. It was deciated May 18, 1994.
