Named after a river that was named for Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame, this is yet another one that you can watch from the convenience of your car (though we highly recommend to get out of the car and take the three-minute hike to the brink of the fall.)
It is not as spectacular as the tall falls you will see further north but it has an interesting location near the Continental Divide. The water you see passing the fall moves on through Lewis and Snake River into the Columbia River and eventually into the Pacific Ocean. Just a couple of miles up north you will see Kepler Cascades. The Firehole River passing the cascades empties into the the Missouri and through the Mississippi and the Golf of Mexico, the water eventually makes it into the Atlantic Ocean.
