FIRST - American Legion - First of its Kind on Waymarking.com

Near this monument called "Liberty Is Not License" the American Legion was founded, May 8-10, 1919.  Though there had been a preliminary meeting in Paris, France  in March 1919, the name American Legion and the constitution of the organization were approved in St. Louis.
