FIRST - Canadian Geocache Monument - First of its Kind on Waymarking.com

[Canada's 1st Geocache was placed at East River Nova Scotia on 28 June 2000 by Ken Kane] On 24 June 2006 a dedicated group of 80 geocachers unveiled a sandstone marker made in Wallace NS (Canada's 1st Geocache Monument) paying tribute to Canada's 1st Geocache - GCBBA. While this monument is not physically located at the Geocache (GCBBA) location; it is located nearby at Graves Island Provincial Park less than 5kms from the actual cache site. It was placed at this location so the general public will have easy access to the monument and to help raise awareness for the family sport/hobby of Geocaching.
The Atlantic Canada Geocaching Association (ACGA) and Geocaching.com were the two major sponsors of this monument.
