This is the second of three oversize historic markers detailing the Battle of Averasboro in March 1865. This marker is on NC State Highway 82 in northern Cumberland County.

This marker is placed near where the Battle of Averasboro got underway on March 15, 1865 and continued into March 16. The Phase II marker is up the road at Chicora Cemetery. The marker contains two battlefield maps to help the visitor understand the positions and movements of troops during the first phase of the battle.

Per the staff of the Averasboro Battlefield Museum, this marker may move to a more accessible location with better parking sometime in the near future.
