The brewery makes
a lot of great beers (they also make root beer), and the tour will enable you to see the
brewing process, plus the bottling and packaging process as well. Even if you show up when the tour is not available, you can still look through the windows from the brewpub into the brewery and see everything. To log this waymark, you need to take the actual tour, not just look through the glass
!
Tours are available on Saturdays at 2pm and 4pm except on holidays, but they advise you to call to be sure. The number is (703) 724-9100. The tour takes about an hour and a half, and free samples of beer and root beer are provided.
There's an attached brewpub with a nice variety of food and you can sample any of the beers before ordering a glass or filling your growler.
