[EN] "The lake in the middle of the forest was built in 1985 in a former pumice pit. The area around the lake was artificially created, including a large protective area. The area is 3.5 hectares at a maximum depth of 5 metres. Over the years, the lake has been transformed into a great biotope. The water quality is excellent and is checked regularly. The sunbathing lawn is spotlessly clean, as is the toilet facility.
The water is used first and foremost for the recovery of the Krufter population. The community pays for the maintenance and upkeep of the site and the access road.
The Krufter Waldsee can be reached from the K 53. There is also a car park for bathers. From the parking lot to the lake it is about 10 minutes by foot. The lake is open for bathers from 1 June to 15 September. Monday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 20.00 pm. Sundays are always closed. Admission is free of charge. Thanks to a gently sloping southern shore, the lake is suitable for children and non-swimmers.
A small playground offers additional variety. The lake can be reached via a 600-metre-long forest path, as cars are not allowed to drive to the lake (nature reserve). Cars can, however, be parked free of charge in a special car park for bathers. The car park can be reached via K 53. There is no gastronomy at the lake, food and drinks have to be brought along."
