Station As is het ideale vertrekpunt voor een fietstochtje in en om het Nationaal Park! Maar ook hier is het mijnverleden niet ver weg: de 31m hoge uitkijktoren is een replica van de boortoren waarmee André Dumont in 1901 de eerst steenkool in Limburg ontdekte te As.
