At the outlet for this natural wonder, the Carolina Bay Lake, there is a dam at end of the road. Around this dam, one finds a nice board walk that allows access to the Lakeshore Trail around the state park property.

The treated lumber boardwalk extends from harden shore structure. It arcs around the dam to allow access to a trail in the local state park. In the middle of the structure there is a bump out to allow observation of the lake and fish.
