White marble statue of Christopher Columbus located outside the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales in Old Havana.

The statue, by Italian sculptor J. Cucchiari, was completed in 1862. It has been located here since that time. The palace used to house the captain general, or governor of Cuba when the island was under Spanish control. It is now the City Museum. It is located on Calle Tacon near Obispo, in old Havana.

Columbus is generally regarded as the "discoverer" of the island of Cuba on 28 October, 1492.

The base, also in marble, states simply "Cristobal Colon".

There is a nearby plaque, in Spanish and Braille, that describes the placement in 1862.
